It must have been at least 10 years since I last visited the Ocean Park, a local theme park here in Hong Kong. It was my mate Jimbo’s birthday yesterday and he planned for us all to go there and just have fun for a day! Turns out, major fun!
Honestly, I’m not a big fan of those rides. Call me chicken shit or whatever, just not that into them. I don’t mind a roller coaster ride every now and then. But just wasn’t up for it yesterday.
However, I love go visit those underwater-world-type of massive aquariums. So, Atoll Reef was my favourite place at Ocean Park.
We stayed till almost 8 when the park closes. It was a really fun day out!
Happy birthday Jimbo! Let’s go there again for Halloween!
Got a message from a kindergarten/primary/high school friend on facebook just 2 days before Christmas, asking me questions about the Mac. While we were chatting along, he also invited me to a high school reunion bbq on Christmas day.
So here comes Christmas day, I went over to Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village for the bbq. There were 18 of us all up. It’s so good to see everyone there! Especially on Christmas!
F5A Classmates
When I got there, they’ve only just started the bbq. I was really hungry when I got there, so I immediately started eating! Haha…
Although you might think that we haven’t seen each other for a very long time, but in fact, we do see each other every now and then. Like our schoolmates’ birthdays and sometimes, weddings. So we do have a fairly good idea of what everyone else are up to and we get along so easily!
Bennett, Carmen, Erwin & Howard were the organisers on the event and they have organised a lot of games for us to play on the night. Of course, punishments are involved.
Here’s how our games are played, someone (normally the loser of the previous game) starts calling out the number ’1′. Then randomly, someone calls out the next number. For those who call out the same number at the same time loses the game, or the last one who hasn’t called out a number loses. Then the losers would have to pick a piece of paper (where everyone has written their own punishments) and do what’s written on it.
Here’s one of the punishments I wrote down on a piece of paper where Johnny picked. LOL~
Johnny taking on my punishment
Haha… and here’s a funny one. The punishment is to have honey sprayed onto the face! Haha…
Spray honey onto the face!
Push ups... I had to do 50 too!!!
Pinching both ears for 1 minute!
Maggie Seasoning Sauce straight!!!
Rubbing soap on hand for 5 minutes...
Call out 'HELP' while putting out fake fire...
Here's the last punishment...
Haha… It was fun! Apart from punishments, we also exchanged presents. (I wasn’t aware that we had to prepare any presents, so I only had cash to exchange). I got the first gift from Alice, a $10 MacDonald’s voucher, yay!
Here’s when Alice was handing me the gift.
Bennett & Erwin
There was a punishment where you have to finish a 250ml popper in 10 seconds. Out of no where, Erwin wanted to take on that challenge. Howard and Paul joined him. Here’s the video.
There are heaps more presents being handed out and exchanged. Here are some of the photos.

Everyone...
The cleaners were really upset because we didn’t look like we wanted to leave. They started pouring water to put the fire and we started packing our stuff. There were still presents to be claimed so we did it on the way out of the camp site.
We finally sorted out all the presents as we got to the gate. Here’s a photo that I really like.

So that’s was it. Some of us went to play mahjong, some of us went drinking. I went back to the office to look for some documents then went over to Mongkok to meet up with a primary school mate. It was such a fun night! Thank you so much to the organisers for doing such a great job! I’ll definitely be looking forward to our next meeting!
Met these 2 lovely ladies from Shanghai at Ibiza on Saturday night. They are friends of Gary, my colleague and friend.
We made plans late Monday afternoon to have dinner together but Gary was busy and couldn’t join us. After work around 7-ish, I went over to their hotel in Wanchai to meet up with them then we headed to the restaurant. I planned to take them to this Chinese restaurant where they serve a nice chicken dish, but as soon as we got there, Linda said that she tried this restaurant before and apart from the chicken, the other dishes weren’t very nice. So then, I asked if they are ok with ‘not so clean’ restaurants and they seem to be fine with it. So we headed over to this small restaurant near Wanchai markets and sat down.
It’s not a fancy restaurant, but a traditional one with nice food. We order a few dishes and not after long, the dishes were served.
It was a really enjoyable meal! Food was nice! We had fun! It was their last night in Hong Kong so we decided to hang out a bit longer. I suggested that we’d go have dessert at Lucky Dessert in Causeway Bay, in between World Trade and Sogo. Off we went! We kept chatting and chatting… and because we’re sitting on those wooden stools, it was really uncomfortable to stay too long. Then we went to Starbucks.
Carrie was setting up her facebook account while Linda and I started taking photos… haha… Here’s Linda on the left and Carrie on the right.
We stayed there till the staff asked us to leave coz they’re closing. Took them back to the hotel, chatted for a bit longer while watching tv then we said our goodbyes.
It was a pleasure knowing these 2 young, smart and pretty ladies! They are really fun to hang out with! Look forward to seeing you 2 again soon! Whether it’d be in Shanghai, Hong Kong or somewhere else! Take care for now!
I got this message from Meng-Han one day and she said that she’d like to visit Hong Kong for a day or two before heading to Brisbane. We then started organizing hotel rooms and flights.
There’s this really crazy typhoon hitting Taiwan the weekend Meng-Han was supposed to fly off from Taipei. Was quite worried that she couldn’t make the trip at one stage.
It’s been 20 months since we last met in Taipei. Her first comments were that I’m so dark! Well, I’ve been mountainteering.
The first thing was to have her checked into her hotel in TST. As soon as she’s checked in, we’re out for lunch.

We ordered so many dishes and were so full afterwards. I’m glad she liked the food. We then went for a walk in TST, took the Star Ferry to Central.

It was a really hot day and I had to cool down a bit at IFC before heading to Stanley. Meng-Han has never taken a double-decker so we decided to take the bus to Stanley.

Then it’s time for the Peak!

After the Peak, we were already quite tired. Took the bus back to Wanchai then took the tram to Causeway Bay for street food.

After sending Meng-Han back to the hotel, I realized that the sky was really clear and would like to go to the Cultural Centre and take a few photos. Here’s what I took.

The next day, the last day of her stay, we met up with another friend, Johnno and went to have dinner together. A very famous restaurant where they serve very very nice hot crabs. I haven’t seen Johnno for years! If it weren’t for Meng-Han, we would be totally out of touch.

After dinner, we went for desserts at Yee Shun Diary Company. They serve really nice milk puddings!

That concludes the 2 days we spent together here in Hong Kong! It was nice having you here, Meng-Han!
What the hell is GlamCham? Apparently, it’s a bi-monthly event organized by the HK Magazine. The whole idea was to give its attendees
a chance to mingle, network, or just unwind with some familiar faces!
Anyhow, I met up with Nat and Pius just outside Halo and although there were some trouble getting in (with the bouncers of course), we finally got in after a few minutes of checking the RSVP list.
Not after long, Jesse joined us and we had a great night! Yes, the drinks were on the house! Woohoo!
I don’t think we had anymore drinks after the open bar and we left as people started leaving the place. Pius and I went for a quick bite after the girls were all in their cabs home. I even went over to Causeway Bay after supper to catch up with Teddy and Gary.
After catching up with Teddy, Gary and I get to meet a friend in person for the first time and we took a cab home together. Gary and I even went for another dim sum supper with Gary after we’ve dropped her off and we bumped into the most bizarre incident. A guy was so drunk that he got into a real fight with his girlfriend and close friends. Eventually, the cops and ambulance had to turn up and put him down! This guy was banging on a shop’s metal gates with his bare fist and blood was everywhere! How stupid was that?
Yep, the cops had him on the ground...
Well… Well… Well… It was almost 3 in the morning, so we took off and went home. It was indeed a very interesting night…
