Received a call from @Nefuis in the afternoon around 14:00 and as soon as I picked up, he goes, ‘Yo! Where are you?’. ‘Home’, I said. Afterwards, he told me that he’s going to have a haircut in Wanchai and wanted to know if I’m around the area so that we could catch up. Well, it didn’t really matter where I was, I could still go and meet up with him.
So at around 16:00, @Nefuis and I met up at Sheung Wan Shun Tak Centre and waited for @Martin_tintin to turn up. We didn’t really have a plan whatsoever, so after wandering around for a while, we decided to go to The Peak. Got there and had to wait for a parking space. While waiting, we took these shots.
At one stage, we couldn’t see that there’s a car pulled out in front and a foreigner driving a BMW drove passed us and took the spot. Damn idiots! Anyways, since we’ve been waiting for the couple in the car just in front of us to ‘bugger off’ for almost 10 minutes, I decided to go up to their car and ask them whether they’re going to leave or not. As soon as I walked up to the side of their car, the guy (in the driver seat) shut the door. Never would’ve thought of that move at all, so I went to the passenger side of the car and sort of did some hand language to ask them whether they’re leaving or not. No response at all!!! What the…??? Because I was being an idiot and was waving so dramatically, the guy finally fiddled around with the gear nob then drove off. (For all that time, he had his engine running??? What was he thinking???) Anyways, spot taken, off we went.
I couldn’t resist the Quiche Lorraine from Délifrance on our way to Starbucks, then I couldn’t resist the Curry Beaf Puff there either… To top that up, I also ordered a tall Caramel Macchiato… sigh… no wonder I’m gaining so much weight! We first sat on those wooden chairs right at the center of the coffee shop. The moment the couple on the upholstered chairs took their butts off those chairs, we invaded them like we’ve never sat on one in our life. We started playing around with our cameras, although @Nefuis didn’t bring any of his digital cameras (apart from his iPhone 3G), he had a film camera on him. It’s been weeks since the three of us all got together so we had plenty to catch up.
The sun was setting and I wanted to start taking some pictures of the outlook. As we walked out, I saw this beautiful skyline.
As I was taking this photo, three tourists were very interested in my LX3 and was talking about my camera in some language that I couldn’t understand. I turned round and started chatted with them. They were using a Canon 450D and was fascinated that my little camera was taking really nice shots. So I showed them my LX3 and let them play around with it for a while as we walked towards the outlook that oversees the Hong Kong harbour view.
It was kind of windy on the night, so after taking a few shots, we had to get going. We ended this great get-together when @Nefuis dropped us off at Admiralty. We have to do this more often guys!
